Kittens Born Today

Kittens are born today. We are delighted to see that our beautiful queen has given birth to 8 beautiful kittens today. There are 6 gorgeous brown kittens and 2 white kittens. All have beautiful Rosetta spots and patterning, and look so healthy. Due to how many mom has to nurse I will be at the ready to hand feed any little ones that are struggling to latch on/feed.

1 week old

Kittens will be reliant on mom for several weeks for feeding and cleaning. Both mom and dad are very protective and nurturing over their young. Mom seems to be managing successfully feeding all her young herself. Ill be keeping a close eye on each of them over the days ahead.

25th May

2 weeks old

We are unable to get too close or handle the kittens at this stage. We are still unable to determine the gender of the kittens as Kittens remain reliant on mom. All are feeding very well. They all look very healthy - its beautiful to see mom and dad cleaning and nursing their young together.

1st June

3 weeks old

Kittens look incredibly healthy. They are very confident now attemping to walk a few steps and play with one another. They are still being nursed by mom so am unable to determine their gender. They are already opening their eyes now.

8th June

4 weeks old

The kittens are even more playful now. They are showing so much more character. They are enjoying their scracth post and playing with each other. Ive been able to handle and sex the kittens and they are all Female, but one, this time round.

15th May

5 week old

Kittens are still reliant on mom for feeding. They are already starting to smell at moms dry Purina food. Also I have put a litter tray out for the little ones and they are starting to play in the litter too. This is a good sign as they are getting used to it.

22nd May

6 week old

These Kittens are incredibly forward, and although they occassionally latch onto mom for feeds they are now starting to eat at the dry food. I have also included sandwich chicken in with their dry food and they absolutely love it. It wont be long now till they are eating completely independantly of mom. Another huge development- a few of the little ones are already using the litter tray. Generally kittens will follow each other so it wont be long before all of them are feeding and using the tray together. I am so pleased. This is a huge leap forward for the whole litter.

PROTECT YOUR BENGAL

  • Keep your Bengal indoors. This keeps it safe from traffic and getting lost.
  • Keep an identity tag on the collar, with your phone number and area code.

The area code is very important, as animal rescue centres will only try the number you have written on the tag. Don't put your name or the cat's name on the tag.

  • Microchip your pet. This is painless, and very effective. Your kitten will be provided with a microchip fitted.
  • Keep open windows netted. Bengals, like any cats, are great escape artists.
  • Keep your Bengal in a travelling cage when travelling.
  • Teach your Bengal to come to its name.
  • Insure your bengal cat. This won't bring back a lost pet, but it will really help with vet bills, should your Bengal have an accident.
  • Keep an identity tag on the collar, with your phone number and area code. The area code is very important, as animal rescue centres will only try the number you have written on the tag. Don't put your name or the cat's name on the tag.
